How to Replace a Whirlpool W11566406 Pump
1. Unplug the appliance from the power source.
Remove the base grille by unscrewing the 2 screws located at the bottom of the washer and then gently pulling down.
2. Access the pump.
Unscrew the 2 Torx screws (T20) on either side of the pump and remove the motor coupler from the pump. Be sure to hold onto the coupler with one hand as you are unscrewing the screws. This will help you to avoid losing the coupler.
3. Disconnect the pump hoses.
Using a pair of pliers, gently squeeze and pull the hoses off of the pump. Take the hoses and lay them aside.
4. Remove the pump.
You can now lift the entire pump out of the washer.
5. Install the new pump.
Line up the new pump with the mount and insert it back into the washing machine. Make sure it is secured in place.
6. Reconnect the hoses.
Place the hoses back onto the pump, using the pliers to ensure they are secure.
7. Reattach the motor coupler.
Secure the motor coupler back onto the pump using the T20 Torx screws. Make sure it is firmly in place.
8. Put the base grille back in place.
Replace the base grille by sliding it up into place. Secure the grille by screwing the 2 screws back in.
9. Plug the appliance back in.
Your Whirlpool W11566406 pump has now been successfully replaced.
