1. Start by unplugging the power cord from the wall outlet and shut off the water supply to the refrigerator.
2. Remove the ice bin and then use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the dispenser cover in place.
3. Gently pull the cover away from the housing and disconnect its wiring harness.
4. Use a nut driver to loosen and remove the mounting screws that secure the water dispenser inlet valve.
5. Pull the old inlet valve away from the housing and remove its inlet tubing.
6. Apply plumber’s tape to the threads on the new Whirlpool W11316373 water dispenser inlet valve.
7. Insert the new inlet valve into the housing, slide the inlet tube over it, and then replace the mounting screws.
8. Reconnect the wiring harness to the dispenser cover and snap the cover back into place.
9. Turn the water supply back on and then plug the refrigerator back in.
10. Test the dispenser to verify that it is working properly.
