Step 1: Turn off the power supply. Shut off the main circuit breaker supplying power to the refrigerator and unplug the appliance from its electrical outlet.
Step 2: Remove the old actuator. Begin by removing the top grille and shelf liner, then use a small screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the actuator in place. Carefully disconnect the wires by using needle-nose pliers.
Step 3: Install the new actuator. Connect the new actuator, then secure it in place with the screws you removed earlier.
Step 4: Test the new actuator. Re-connect the power supply and plug the refrigerator back into the electrical outlet. Test the new actuator by pushing the door switch. If it opens and closes as expected, the installation is complete.
