Replacing a Whirlpool W11040044 Cooktop Step by Step
1. Unplug the power to the appliance. Make sure you shut off the gas at the main shut off valve before beginning.
2. Take out the screws that hold down the cooktop to the counter. Lift up the cooktop and remove it from its countertop.
3. Disconnect the wires and gas tubing from the old cooktop. Keep the screws with the old cooktop if possible in order to reuse them for the new one.
4. Place the new cooktop into the same space and secure it with the same screws or with new ones.
5. Reconnect the wires and gas tubing to the new cooktop, making sure that all connections are tight and secure.
6. Turn on the gas at the main shutoff valve.
7. Plug in the power to the range and test the cooktop to make sure it is working properly.
8. Replace the cooktop knobs and enjoy your new cooktop!
