W10820048 Whirlpool Washer Suspension Rod Kit
The Top Load Washer Suspension Rod Kit supports the washer tub and helps it spin evenly during the cleaning cycle. This kit includes (4) suspension rods, (4) bushings, (4) suspension balls and installation instructions. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the hot and cold water supplies. We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets* (item W10135699) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

Replacing the Whirlpool W10820048 Washer Suspension Kit:
1. Unplug your washing machine from the power source, and turn off and disconnect the water supply at their source.
2. To start, open the top and tilt the washer forward to access the rear panel screws. Remove the screws and pull off the back panel.
3. Carefully remove any debris from the drum and tub area, and inspect the shock absorbers, drain hose, and fill hoses for any signs of damage or leaking.
4. Once you have inspected and cleared out the area, locate and disconnect the wiring for the old suspension kit.
5. Using a screwdriver, remove the mounting plate that connects the shock absorbers to the base of the washer.
6. Then, remove the old shock absorbers from the washer.
7. Take the new Whirlpool W10820048 Washer Suspension Kit and carefully place each shock absorber into the designated slots on the washer base.
8. Secure the shock absorbers in place with the included mounting screws.
9. Reattach any wiring to the suspension kit before re-securing the back panel.
10. Lastly, re-connect the water supply, plug in the power source, and run a test cycle.
