1. Turn off the gas supply and shut off the circuit breaker to the Williams Manual Spark Ignitor (P285500).
2. Remove the screws from the manual spark ignitor's faceplate, then pull the faceplate off to access the wiring connections.
3. Unscrew the wires from the terminals of the existing manual spark ignitor. Be careful not to mix up the wires as you disconnect them.
4. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the two screws holding the manual spark ignitor in place. Once those are removed, you can take out the ignitor and set it aside.
5. Mount the new manual spark ignitor and use the screws provided to secure it in place.
6. Connect the wires to the terminals on the new manual spark ignitor. Make sure they are connected correctly.
7. Replace the faceplate and securely tighten the screws.
8. Turn the circuit breaker to the Williams Manual Spark Ignitor back on, and turn the gas supply back on.
9. Test the manual spark ignitor by turning on the appliance and observing that it is igniting properly. If there's any issue, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for troubleshooting.
