To access the part, remove all attachments and the bowl of the mixer. Then remove the back cover of the mixer and the screws from the trim band. Remove the wires from the seal of the mixer in order to take the spring off of the speed control plate. Make sure you hook the spring with a needle nose pliers securely to remove. Disconnect the wires from the phase control board. You'll then be able to remove the upper two screws holding in the old speed control plate. Note: These upper two screws are where you adjust the speed of your mixer. Make sure you measure them from the back of their post to the back of the speed control plate at 3/8-in.
