After the freezer door is removed, tape the refrigerator door shut and then remove the screws from the center hinge, just loosening the third screw. Remove the cardboard back from the bottom of the refrigerator to access this part and remove the copper tubing. Place a towel down to catch any dripping water. The old valve has screw-on compression fittings, whereas the new valve has press and lock fittings.
