Replacing the 5040A30027A LG Damper Motor
1. First, unplug the power cord to your appliance and turn off the gas supply before attempting any repairs.
2. Remove the screws and panel covers from the access door, exposing the interior of the appliance.
3. There should be two or three screws holding the damper motor onto the chamber. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws, carefully noting their order and position, and remove the motor.
4. Take the old motor to an appliance repair store to find a replacement. Ensure that the new motor is compatible with your appliance model.
5. Place the new motor into the chamber, lining up all of the mounting holes, and replace the screws in the same order as you removed them.
6. Replace the access panel and screws, and plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
7. Turn on the gas supply and power to the appliance, and test the new damper motor by operating the unit. If it runs without issue, your repair is complete.
