The Gas Dryer Igniter lights the gas in your dryer. If your dryer is no longer supplying heat, this part may be damaged or cracked and may need to be replaced. To access the p ...art, lift the top of the dryer by releasing the spring clips from the top panel with a putty knife. Then remove the door switch wires and the screws that release the front panel. Next, simply loosen the screw that holds in the igniter to remove it. Please note that the bracket is no longer included with this part. If your original igniter was round, also order bracket (item 37001309). Replacing this assembly will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dryer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. This Gas Oven Flat Style Igniter Kit replaces shorter or longer igniters for either bake or broil burners. You may need this part if the element itself shorted out, or if the ...igniter of your oven glows for more than 90 seconds without lighting the gas flame -- this indicates that the igniter is too weak to properly open the valve to allow the gas to feed through. The igniter must glow white hot to correctly light the oven; if it glows red or orange it is not functioning as it should. Bracket and connector not included. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the oven and novice repair experience. You must unplug the oven or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure to turn the gas valve off before the repair.
