Instructions for Replacing the GE General Electric Smart Connect Refrigerator 15' 1/4" PEX Icemaker Water Line
1. Before beginning your replacement project, make sure you have unplugged your refrigerator from its power source.
2. Locate the existing water line connected to your refrigerator. This will likely be a copper tube or a plastic 1/4†PEX water line.
3. Cut the water line with a tubing cutter and discard the old line.
4. Cut your new line of PEX to the desired length. Make sure it’s long enough to reach your refrigerator without stretching or bending the tubing.
5. Install the new PEX water line. Use a crimping tool to secure the connections.
6. Connect one end of the PEX tubing to the water valve found in the back of the refrigerator.
7. Connect the other end of the PEX tubing to the water line connection located within the wall behind the refrigerator.
8. Turn the water supply back on and check for leaks at all connections.
9. Once there are no leaks, plug the refrigerator back into its power source.
10. Enjoy your newly replaced, leak-free, GE General Electric Smart Connect Refrigerator 15' 1/4" PEX Icemaker Water Line!
