1. Unplug the refrigerator from the power source.
2. Locate the water hose connected to the back of the refrigerator and disconnect it.
3. Move the refrigerator away from the wall and locate the access panel located on the rear of the fridge.
4. Remove the screws or clips holding the access panel.
5. Carefully remove the access panel to expose the GE WR17X20449 Paddle Assembly.
6. Carefully disconnect the electrical wiring connected to the paddle assembly.
7. Loosen the clamps that are holding the paddle assembly in place.
8. Carefully remove the old paddle assembly and discard it.
9. Place the new paddle assembly in the same location as the old one.
10. Tighten the clamps that are holding the paddle assembly in place.
11. Reconnect the electrical wiring to the paddle assembly.
12. Replace the access panel, ensuring that all screws and clips are securely tightened.
13. Reattach the water hose to the back of the refrigerator.
14. Plug the refrigerator back in and turn it on.
