Instructions for Replacing the GE WR02X21242 Grey Door Plug
1. Begin by unplugging the appliance from the power source and shut off any water source connected to the appliance.
Gather all the necessary tools and supplies you will need for this project. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver, a putty knife, and the replacement door plug.
2. Open the appliance’s door and use the putty knife to remove any caulk around the perimeter of the door plug. If the caulk does not come loose, use the screwdriver to loosen the edges of the existing door plug.
3. Carefully pull away the old door plug and discard it. Make sure all of the old caulk and debris is removed from the door.
4. Place the replacement door plug into the opening and press down firmly to ensure a tight fit. Once it is in place, press along all sides of the door plug to make sure it is secure.
5. Use a generous amount of caulk to seal the perimeter of the new door plug. Allow to dry completely before using the appliance.
6. Reconnect power and water sources to the appliance and test the new door plug.
Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer's manual, if available.
