Replace the GE WH16X22791 Rod Assembly with DIY Instructions
1. Unplug the washing machine from the power source.
2. Open the washer's lid, and remove the old basket drive rod. It is held in place by clips on the side of the tub.
3. Disconnect the wire harness that connects the control module to the motor.
4. Remove the screws holding the agitator to the washer's tub. Lift the agitator off of its mounting base.
5. Place the new rod assembly into the washer's tub. Make sure it is aligned correctly and properly inserted.
6. Reattach the agitator to the washer tub, using the screws you removed earlier.
7. Connect the wire harness back to the motor.
8. Secure the rod assembly in place with the clips.
9. Plug the washing machine back into the power source.
10. Test the newly installed rod assembly to make sure it is functioning properly.
