Replacing the GE WE9M58 GASKET DOOR
1. Unplug and power off your dryer: Always unplug the dryer from the wall outlet before you start any maintenance or repairs.
2. Open up the dryer door: Use a flathead screwdriver to take the two screws out of the top and bottom edges of the dryer door. Lift the door off and set it aside.
3. Remove the existing gasket: Pull the old gasket away from the edges. This can be done with your hands or a flathead screwdriver.
4. Clean the area: Make sure the area is free from dust, lint and dirt. Use a vacuum or a damp cloth to make sure that the area is clean.
5. Install the new gasket: Get the new gasket and align it with the edges of the dryer. Secure the gasket in place using a thin piece of tape.
6. Reassemble the door: Place the door back on and install the screws. Make sure that the screws are tightened properly so that the door is secure.
7. Test the door: Close the door and turn on the dryer. Make sure that there is a good seal around the door and that the door closes properly. If there are any issues, adjust the gasket or repeat the steps above.
8. Enjoy your new gasket: You now have a new gasket and a sealed door. Enjoy the convenience of a working dryer again.
