Step by Step Guide to Replacing a GE WE04X25200 Thermostat

1. Start by turning off the power to the circuit breaker for the heating and cooling system in your home. You may need to turn off both the breakout and the inside power switch located near the thermostat.

2. Remove the cover on the current thermostat, and locate the screws holding it in place.

3. Unscrew the screws and carefully remove the thermostat from the wall. Place the old thermostat to the side.

4. Read the instructions included with the new GE WE04X25200 thermostat before you begin wiring.

5. Insert the wires into their respective terminals on the new thermostat. The C wire should be connected to the “C” slot.

6. Carefully attach the new thermostat to the wall and screw it into place.

7. Turn the power back on to the heating and cooling system.

8. Program the new thermostat according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure to read all safety warnings before programming the new thermostat.

9. Test the new GE WE04X25200 thermostat by setting it to different temperature settings to make sure it is functioning correctly.
