1. Unplug the appliance and turn off the circuit breaker that powers the appliance.
2. Open the dryer door and remove the screws around the door opening, then lift off the top panel.
3. Fairly pull the upper door assembly away from the frame assembly.
4. Remove the two screws holding the latch in place and remove the old door latch.
5. Replace the old door latch with a new GE WE01X29738.
6. Reinstall the upper door assembly, the top panel, and the screws around the door opening.
7. Plug the appliance back in and turn the circuit breaker on.
8. Test the new door latch to ensure it is working correctly.
