Replacing the WE01X24552 GE Dryer Main Timer Knob Assembly
1. Unplug your GE dryer from the power outlet and remove the cabinet top to access the timer assembly.
2. Using a 1/4" nut driver, loosen the screws on the main timer knob and remove them from the timer shaft it is held onto.
3. Remove the two mounting screws that hold the timer assembly in place and then carefully pull out the timer.
4. Insert the new GE WE01X24552 timer knob into the timer shaft, making sure that all four connector pins line up with their respective slots in the back of the new knob.
5. Secure the new GE WE01X24552 timer knob in place by firmly tightening the two screws on the back side of the timer.
6. Carefully mount the new timer back into the dryer by inserting the two screws that were removed earlier.
7. Reattach the dryer's cabinet top.
8. Plug the dryer back into the wall outlet and turn on the power.
9. Test the new timer by setting it to the desired cycle and make sure that it works properly.
