Step 1: Unplug the appliance. This will ensure safety by turning off the power source.
Step 2: Open the dishwasher door and remove the middle portion of the old outer door panel. Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the screws (located at the top and bottom) that hold the middle portion in place.
Step 3: Remove the bungee-type fasteners from the interior of the dishwasher door. Pull firmly on the fasteners to remove them.
Step 4: Remove the two screws that are mounted on the lower portion of the dishwasher door frame.
Step 5: Lift up the upper portion of the outer door panel. To release it, unscrew the two screws (located near the top) using a flathead or Phillips head screwdriver.
Step 6: Slide the old door panel out of the dishwasher door frame.
Step 7: Slide the GE WD27X23876 Outer Door Panel SS into the dishwasher door frame. Make sure to line up the screws and fasteners so they fit in the same spots they were in before.
Step 8: Place the middle part of the door panel back in its place. Secure it with the two screws at the top and bottom.
Step 9: Replace the bungee-type fasteners onto the interior of the dishwasher door. Pull firmly on the fasteners to make sure they are secure.
Step 10: Plug the appliance back in and test the dishwasher to ensure the new door panel works correctly.
