Replacing the GE WC11X20163 Disposer Splash Guard and Studs
Instructions:
1. Before beginning the repair, make sure to turn off the power to the garbage disposal unit by flipping the breaker switch or unplugging the unit.
2. Place a bucket underneath the disposal unit to catch any water that may leak during the repair.
3. Locate the splash guard and studs on the underside of the unit.
4. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the splash guard in place.
5. Gently pull off the old splash guard.
6. Take the new splash guard and place it into the slots on either side of the disposal unit.
7. Secure the new splash guard in place with the screws.
8. Insert the new studs into the slots on the sides of the garbage disposal unit.
9. Tighten the nuts onto the studs with a wrench.
10. Turn the power back on to the disposal unit.
11. Test the fit of the new splash guard and studs by running some cold water into the sink while the disposal is running.
12. If everything is functioning properly, the new splash guard and studs have been successfully installed.
