Replacing the RPWFE GE SmartWater Filter

Replacing the RPWFE GE SmartWater Filter is a fairly straightforward process. This guide will walk you through the steps required to replace the filter in your home or office.

Step One: Disconnect the water supply to the refrigerator. Locate the cold water line that runs from your wall to the refrigerator, and shut off the water supply by turning the valve in a clockwise direction.

Step Two: Unscrew the old filter. Locate the filter cartridge in the bottom right corner of the refrigerator and unscrew it using a pair of pliers.

Step Three: Remove the old filter. Pull the old filter out of the refrigerator, careful not to damage any other parts inside the refrigerator.

Step Four: Insert the new filter. Carefully insert the new RPWFE GE SmartWater Filter into the refrigerator, ensuring it is properly aligned.

Step Five: Secure the new filter. Tighten the filter in place using the pliers.

Step Six: Reconnect the water supply. Turn the valve back counterclockwise to reconnect the water supply to the refrigerator.

Step Seven: Run the water. Allow the water to run for several minutes to clear any air pockets in the system and flush out the old filter's residue.

That's it! You're done! Congratulations, you've successfully replaced the RPWFE GE SmartWater Filter in your refrigerator. Enjoy your filtered water!
