DIY Instructions for Replacing the FQROMF GE Water Filter System Reverse Osmosis Cartridge

Are you noticing poorer-tasting water or slower flow rates coming from your reverse osmosis system? It is time to replace the filter cartridge! This DIY guide will walk you through replacing the FQROMF GE Water Filter System Reverse Osmosis Cartridge.

Step #1: Shut Off Main Water Supply

Before starting the job, make sure to shut off the main water supply to your reverse osmosis system. This can usually be found under the kitchen sink or in a basement utility room.

Step #2: Disconnect the Tubing

The first step is to disconnect the tubing going to and from the reverse osmosis system. If your system has an additional post-filter, disconnect the tubing from that as well. When disconnected, drain any remaining water from the hoses.

Step #3: Remove the Old Cartridge

Once the tubing is disconnected, you can remove the old cartridge from the system. You may need to use a mini wrench to loosen the housing and extract the old cartridge. Make sure to keep track of all the removed parts and set them aside for reassembly later.

Step #4: Insert New Cartridge

Once the old cartridge is removed, you can insert the new cartridge into the housing. Again, you may need to use a mini wrench to secure the housing and ensure a tight seal.

Step #5: Reattach Tubing

Now you can reattach the tubing to the reverse osmosis system and the post-filter if applicable. Make sure all connections are secure.

Step #6: Turn On the Water Supply

Once the tubing is reconnected, you can turn on the water supply to the reverse osmosis system. Make sure to check underneath the sink and other areas that may have become wet during the installation process. Then you can check the system to make sure it is working properly.

Congratulations! You have just successfully replaced the FQROMF GE Water Filter System Reverse Osmosis Cartridge. Enjoy your fresh, clean-tasting water!
