Remember to unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the water supply before you begin. Required Accessory: You will need to reuse the brass fitting from the existing part with the new valve or purchase a new one (item W10685193) if the old one doesn’t fit; use pipe joint compound to securely attach the fitting to the new part. If your dishwasher has a solid copper fill line, you'll want to disconnect the water line before pulling the old valve out. If you have the flexible fill line, you can remove the old valve before disconnecting the water line. Be sure to clean out the threads and add new pipe dope to the brass fitting connected to the old valve before transferring it to the new valve. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience.
