This Refrigerator Center Door Hinge makes for smooth opening and closing of your freezer door. If the hinge has been damaged or has worn out making opening and closing the doo ...r difficult, this part may need to be replaced. To replace the old hinge, you'll first need to remove the freezer door. After the freezer door is removed, tape the refrigerator door shut and then remove the screws from the center hinge, just loosening the third screw. You'll slide the refrigerator door to the left slightly to remove the hinge. Check the washers on the hinge (sold separately). They may also need to be replaced. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. This Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat is a safety device that clips onto the evaporator in the freezer. The thermostat turns off the defrost heater in case it gets too warm in ...the freezer section. If your refrigerator does not defrost, replacing the thermostat may alleviate this issue. To access the part, open the freezer door and remove the shelves, mounting brackets (if they release), and the ice bucket.
