Replacing the 00612817 Bosch Range/Cooktop Burner Ignition Device
1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, a needle-nose pliers, and the replacement 00612817 Bosch Range/Cooktop Burner Ignition Device.
2. Turn off the gas supply to your range/cooktop. Make sure that the gas is completely shut off before proceeding with the repair.
3. Remove the burner base. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the burner base to the cooktop. Once the screws are removed, lift the burner base off of the range/cooktop.
4. Disconnect the wires. Use the needle-nose pliers to carefully disconnect the wire harness from the burner base.
5. Remove the old ignition device. Unscrew the two screws that secure the ignition device to the burner base, then remove the device from the base.
