Replacing the Bosch 00429065 Foot Switch
1. Gather all of the necessary tools that you will need; these include a Phillips head screwdriver, adjustable pliers, a ruler or measuring tape, and safety gear including work gloves and eye protection.
2. Unplug the existing foot switch - make sure the power to the device is completely disconnected before beginning this step.
3. Remove the cover from the existing foot switch to reveal the wiring inside.
4. Disconnect the wiring from the terminals for the old foot switch. Make sure to take note of how the wires were connected to the old switch so that you can connect them to the new one in the same way.
5. Measure the dimensions of the old foot switch and compare them to the new one to make sure they are compatible.
6. Install the new foot switch into the device enclosure, ensuring it is turned the correct way so the terminals line up with the wiring.
7. Secure the new foot switch using the screws from the old switch if possible, or the screws that came with the new switch.
8. Carefully reattach the wires to the terminals, double-checking your connections to make sure everything is in the right place.
