Step 1: Unplug the Power Cord
Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. Make sure that the washer is turned off.
Step 2: Access the Washer
Open the washer's cabinet door and remove the screws from the top panel of the washer. Lift the top panel and secure it against the wall. Ensure that all of the components are connected to the main power board.
Step 3: Remove the Old PCB Main Power Control Board
Locate the EBR62198104 LG Washer PCB Main Power Control Board and remove the bolts that secure it to the chassis. Pull the old board out of the washer and check for any loose wires or connectors. Disconnect any wiring harnesses that are connected to the control board.
Step 4: Install the New PCB Main Power Control Board
Insert the replacement control board into the hole and secure it with the bolts that you removed from the old board. Connect all the wiring harnesses and make sure that they are all properly seated.
Step 5: Reassemble the Washer
Replace the screws that hold the top panel in place. Lower the top panel and shut the washer cabinet door. Connect the power cord to the wall outlet and turn the power back on.
Step 6: Test the New PCB Main Power Control Board
Run a short cycle on the washer to test the new control board. If the washer runs normally, then everything has been successfully replaced.
