1. Start by switching off the power connection to the washer and disconnecting the water supply from the washer.
2. Move the washer away from the wall so that you have easy access to the back of the machine.
3. Unscrew the rear plate or access panel and remove it, taking care not to damage or lose any of the screws.
4. Remove the drum belt by loosening the tensioner and then sliding the belt off.
5. The spring clutch is located on the back of the transmission, underneath the drive pulley.
6. Carefully remove the old clutch and spring, taking care not to bend or damage it in any way.
7. Place the new spring clutch and spring onto the back of the transmission and secure it in place.
8. Put the drive belt back onto the washer and tension it as instructed.
9. Replace the rear panel and secure it with the screws.
10. Turn on the power connection and water supply before running a test cycle to check that the spring clutch is functioning correctly.
