If your drain is clogging with larger pieces of food, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. To access the part, remove the lower dishrack from the appliance and remove the lower spray arm hub. Then remove the screws holding the top of the pump on, and the cover. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience.
