Then use your ratchet to loosen the bolt inside the plate so you can remove the old part. If your new washplate didn't come with the the metal shield, you can transfer it over from your old washplate. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, minor disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your washer's hot and cold water supplies.
