100% Guaranteed genuine parts logo
This Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar monitors the moisture levels of the clothing during the drying cycle and communicates a signal to the control board indicating when the clothes are dry and the cycle can finish. If your appliance shuts off too early or continues running after the clothes are already dry, one or more of the dryer’s moisture sensors may be defective and need replacement. Note that your appliance requires two sensor bars to operate properly; the parts are sold separately. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dryer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. The sensors are located in the plastic lint screen housing.

DIY Guide on Replacing the WP3387223 Whirlpool Electrode

Are you having issue with your Whirlpool Electrode? This DIY guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to safely and successfully replace theWP3387223 Whirlpool Electrode.

Step 1: Unplug the Dryer
Before starting any repair work, always ensure that the dryer is unplugged. Shut off the power at the main breaker panel for the home and then locate the power cord’s plug and unplug it from the wall socket.

Step 2: Take out the Top Panel
With the top of the dryer exposed, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove two screws located on either side. This will allow the top panel to be taken off so you can gain access to the back of the dryer.

Step 3: Remove the Old Electrode
Using a flathead screwdriver and needle-nose pliers, carefully disconnect the wires from the old electrode. After the wires have been disconnected, unscrew and take out the old electrode.

Step 4: Install the New Electrode
Leaving the wires disconnected, bring the new electrode over to the dryer and position it in place. Once the new electrode is secured, begin connecting the wires. Make sure to wrap the wires onto the screws in a clockwise direction and ensure there are no loose connections.

Step 5: Test the New Electrode
Once the new electrode is installed and all connections are secure, turn the power switch back on. Test the new electrode by running a cycle and checking for any signs of overheating. If everything appears to be running smoothly, turn off the power and switch on the top panel.

Congratulations – You have successfully replaced your Whirlpool Electrode!
