Replacing a Whirlpool W11550891 Agitator

Tools Needed:
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Flathead screwdriver
• Pliers
• Rag
Instructions:
1. Unplug the washing machine from the wall and turn off the water supply.
2. Locate the screws securing the top of the washer to the cabinet. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove them. Once the screws are removed, lift up on the top of the washer to gain access to the agitator.
3. Use a flathead screwdriver to loosen and remove the bolt that connects the agitator to the drive shaft.
4. With the bolt removed, carefully pull the agitator up and out of the washer’s cylinder. Use a rag to clean around the agitator shaft before removing the broken agitator.
5. Take the new agitator and place it in the cylinder so that the splined shaft fits into the drive shaft.
6. Using a pair of pliers, secure the bolt onto the drive shaft and tighten it firmly.
7. Replace the top of the washer and secure it in place with the screws.
8. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the water to the washer.
