1. Before replacing the 241872512 Frigidaire refrigerator door gasket, make sure to unplug the refrigerator and shut off any water connected to the appliance.
2. Before you begin, thoroughly clean the areas around the old gasket with a damp cloth and mild soap. This will help ensure a good seal when you install the new gasket.
3. Using a putty knife, carefully remove the old gasket. Pull the gasket away from the refrigerator gently, making sure not to damage any of the door or frame components.
4. When you have removed the old gasket, use a vacuum to remove any loose dirt and debris from the door and frame.
5. Apply a thin layer of silicone sealer to the back side of the new gasket and start at one corner. Gently press the gasket into position on the fridge, making sure to press it evenly and firmly against the door so that it creates a tight seal.
6. Once the gasket is in position, run your hand along the entire length of it to make sure that it is firmly adhered. If there are any bubbles or gaps, gently press down and smooth them out.
7. Let the gasket dry and adhere overnight before plugging in and using the refrigerator.
