1. First, you will need to turn off the power to the GE WH08X23479 appliance and disconnect it from its electrical outlet. Make sure it is unplugged before attempting any repairs.
2. Remove all of the outer panels, fasteners, gaskets and other parts from around the appliance. This includes any back, side and top panels that are visible.
3. Carefully remove the old GE WH08X23479 GASKET from the appliance, being careful not to damage the surrounding components.
4. Take the old GASKET to a hardware store or home improvement center to purchase an exact replacement.
5. Install the new GASKET in place of the old one, making sure that all of the connections are secure and correctly aligned.

7. Turn the power back on and plug the appliance back into its electrical outlet.
