1. Turn off power to the washer before replacing the GE WD21X24899 SERVICE MACHINE CONTROL. Unplug the washer from the wall.
2. Remove the back panel from the washer by loosening the screws that hold it in place.
3. Take out the screws that hold the control panel in place and remove the control panel from the washer.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the control panel as well as the other components, such as the motor, door switch and timer.
5. Remove the old control panel and replace it with the new GE WD21X24899 SERVICE MACHINE CONTROL.
6. Reconnect the wiring harness to the new control panel, as well as the other components, such as the motor, door switch and timer.
7. Reattach the control panel to the washer and secure it with the screws that hold it in place.
8. Replace the back panel of the washer and secure it with the screws that hold it in place.
9. Plug the washer back into the wall and turn on the power.
