This Dishwasher Impeller and Seal Kit is for the pump in your dishwasher. If your pump is damaged or you aren't getting any water pressure, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Remove the lower rack of your dishwasher and take out the spray arm nut by turning it counter-clockwise to access the part. When removing the old gasket, be sure to clean out any left behind residue. This kit includes the Face Seal-seat, Face Seal-head carbon, washer and the impeller assembly. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. You must also turn off the water supply underneath the sink before installation. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner* (item W10282479) to help reduce limescale and mineral build-up that can be unsightly and affect your dishwasher’s performance. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

Step1: Unplug the Dryer

Unplug your Whirlpool dryer from the wall outlet before beginning the repair process.

Step 2: Locate and Remove the Impeller

Remove the front panel of the dryer to access the interior parts. Once the panel is off, you should be able to see the impeller that sits on top of the motor assembly. Disconnect the wires connected to the impeller and carefully remove the impeller with a pair of pliers.

Step 3: Install the New Impeller

With the old impeller removed, you can now install the new impeller (Whirlpool 8193951A). Connect the wires to the new impeller and make sure that they are secured in place. Then, use a pair of pliers to carefully insert the new impeller into the motor assembly.

Step 4: Replace the Front Panel

Replace the front panel of the dryer and plug the unit back into the wall outlet. Test your new impeller by powering on the dryer and running a cycle. If the dryer runs properly, then you have successfully replaced the impeller.
