How to Replace an LG Washing Machine Magnetic Door Plunger (AGM73610701)

Are you experiencing trouble with your LG washing machine's door not staying closed? It may be time to replace the magnetic door plunger, or AGM73610701. This DIY guide will show you how. You'll need some basic tools and a new AGM73610701 for this repair. Let's get started!

Step 1: Unplug the Washing Machine

Before you start any repair, it's important to unplug the washing machine from the wall. This will prevent any electrical shock if you come in contact with wiring or other components.

Step 2: Remove the Access Panel

The access panel is located on the back of the washer. It is held in place with either screws or a plastic snap. Carefully remove the screws or unsnap the panel to access the inside of the washer.

Step 3: Locate the Magnetic Door Plunger

The plunger is a small metal piece that attaches the door latch to the door. It is usually attached with two screws and has a magnet hidden inside.

Step 4: Remove the Old Magnetic Door Plunger

Carefully unscrew the two screws holding the old plunger in place. Pull the plunger out of the door and discard it.

Step 5: Install the New Magnetic Door Plunger

Take your new plunger and slide it into place. Securely tighten the two screws to hold it in place.

Step 6: Close the Access Panel

Replace the access panel back onto the washer with either screws or a plastic snap.

Step 7: Plug the Washing Machine Back In

Your repair is complete! To make sure your repair stuck, plug the washer back in and test the door's seal. If there is no longer a gap in between the door and the frame, your repair was successful. Congratulations!

Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer's manual, if available.
